Supporting Print Awareness in Pre-School to K.  PreK-K.  How can you help kids develop print awareness? Here are some sample questions and prompts you can use before, during, and after a read aloud activity to help children activate basic knowledge about print and books.

On-Line Literacy

Power Of Reading.  Pre-K to Grade 1.  An online resource for beginner readers and writers to generate short simple stories where they are the main character.  Children will need adult help entering answers that will be used to generate the story.  Once complete, parents can upload the stories onto their Facebook account.  Works well as a center activity students can go to when their work is complete, so long as there is an adult or older student that can help beginner readers to enter information.

Life Skills

A Clear and Simple Guide for Discussing Financial Responsibility.  This is a resource provides important lessons and discussions about credit, how it works, and why it's important to maintain good financial health.

Cross Curriculum Websites and Lesson Plans

The Resource Room.  A free membership site with lesson plans, novel studies, activities, and more.  There is a kids section and a teacher's section.
